Growler Lake - previously known as Bear Lake and Bat Lake even before that - is a small lake located in West Guilford, Ontario. This quiet lake is approximately 50 hectares in area, almost 2 kilometers in length and is 30 metres deep in some areas. The lake is located about 4 kilometers in from County Road 7 and is accessed by a gated private road system which measures, in total, about 8 kilometers. The Growler Lake Community includes about 315 hectares of mixed forest divided into 27 seasonal-residential zoned building lots. Lots range in size from about half a hectare to almost 65 hectares, with waterfronts ranging from 55 metres to almost 385 metres. Rock faces, marshes, beaches, creeks, waterfalls, shallow and deep water entries, as well as varied elevations make each lot unique. The Growler Lake Community is small and members enjoy both an active social agenda and the privacy and peace made possible by our small lake with large lots and a welcoming sense of community. Without exception, members of the Growler Lake Property Owners' Association (GLPOA) have a strong and focused commitment to lake conservation and forest management.
