The zoning of the property is Tourist Commercial and requires a rental program component. 8 weeks is the minimum but of course you may put it in more often if you wish. 2 of those 8 weeks must be in “prime season” (May to October). The other 6 weeks can be any time of the year. Further details will be available in the Condo Documentation and are subject to municipal approvals.
Individual purchasers of resort units will be required to self-assess for the HST due on the purchase price (including the furniture package) but will be able to claim an off-setting Input Tax Credit provided the purchaser is registered for HST purposes and plans to leave their suite substantially in the rental program.
