Kashagawigamog is the biggest of the lakes comprising a 5 lake chain that extends from Head Lake in Haliburton village at one end and almost reaches the village of Minden, with Canning Lake, at the opposite end. Kashagawigamog Lake is a long lake and is one of the focal points of activity in the Haliburton area. It stretches southwest from the town of Haliburton and has two main access areas found off Highway 121. It is a popular tourist destination with many cottages, permanent residences and resorts. Lake Kashagawigamog gets its name from the Native word for ‘long and winding waters’. Sixteen km long and about 1km wide, the lake is a very scenic lake for boat cruising and is very popular.
