Moot Lake is located in the geographic township of McLean within the Township of Lake of Bays, northeast of Bracebridge, just south of Baysville near Lake of Bays. The lake is situated east of the village of Baysville, north of Muskoka Rd 117. Moot Lake flows into the South Branch of the Muskoka River by way of Ellis Lake.
It's a popular cottage lake and is accessed from Route 117.Outlet creek drains from its south end into the Muskoka River. The fishing is not spectacular being a relatively small lake and a popular location but there is a bass population.
